Plant information

General

A palm tree for your living room, or exotic accessory for your balcony. This perennial trachycarpus, also known as the Chinese windmill palm, is the perfect green mood maker for both your home and your garden. Originally from the Himalayan mountains, the palm can easily survive our mild European winters.

Care

If placed inside, the plant needs its soil to stay slightly moist, but never too wet. A splash of water once a week is fine. If placed outside, the plant needs water at least twice a week. Never let the soil dry out during the summer. In the winter, the palm actually prefers dry soil.

Placing

Place the palm in a sunny spot in your garden without too much wind, direct sunlight is fine. Indoors, the plant also prefers a bright spot. During the winter, the palm can stay outside without any issues.

Propogation

Repot the plant after purchase to a much larger plant pot. Repot again once every three years, preferably in the spring.
