General

The Ficus - one of the largest plant families - occurs mainly in Asia and Africa, but also in parts of South America and Australia. The plant grows primarily in tropical and subtropical areas and is therefore resilient. This faithful house companion does not like changes and if it receives enough light, it will purify the air in your home for years.

Care

A Weeping Fig requires little care and is as a result a popular plant. Give the plant every now and then a large measure of room-temperature water - slightly less in the winter than in the summer. The Ficus prefers a slightly dry rather than a moist layer of soil.

Placing

A living room spot with abundant natural light is ideal for this houseplant. Avoid direct sunlight and do not move the Weeping Fig; the Ficus does not like changes.

Propogation

Repot the Weeping Fig in the spring when the plant is beginning its growth spurt. The Ficus does not require a large pot since its roots do not take up much space. Nutrient-rich potting soil will stimulate its growth.
